With their debut EP set for release next month, identical twin sister duo Dolder unveil their captivating second single, Girl I Know-a beautifully stripped-back piece that lays their crystalline vocals and emotive songwriting bare. Blending delicate harmonies with a sense of disarming vulnerability, the track reflects the duo’s growing mastery of alt-pop storytelling.

Written in the aftermath of heartbreak, Girl I Know captures the tender process of coming of age in an intimate and relatable exploration of learning, healing, and rediscovering the self.

Speaking about the song, Dani Dolder shares, “It is about that moment when you blame yourself for a man's wrongdoing-replaying everything you said or did, wondering where it all went wrong. I got ghosted and blamed myself for everything. But the bridge is that I’m going to be fine moment, where you realise it wasn’t you-you’ll move on, grow, and be better off, while some guys just stay stuck in their cycle of love bombing and leaving. Let them.”

Girl I Know will feature alongside Dolder’s recent single Charlie and two brand new songs on their debut EP The Motive, which is set for release on 12th December on EMI.

If there’s a special musical synergy that comes from growing up together-sharing experiences, discovering tastes in tandem, and learning to listen to each other - then the connection between Dani and Zara Dolder exists on an entirely different plane.

Identical twin sisters, they have been side by side since before they were even born, and now they bring that symbiosis to the forefront with their debut music release. Growing up, the twin sisters spent their childhood immersed in the timeless melodies of their forever inspirations-The Beatles, Eagles and the world of Steely Dan and Glen Campbell that spun endlessly on their drummer father’s home jukebox.

Now aged 21, they’re still as besotted by the old bands that shaped them, but they’ve also become devotees of modern female storytelling-from HAIM and Taylor Swift to Gracie Abrams, boygenius and Lola Young. And it’s into the sweet spot of these two ideas that Dolder, and their musically gorgeous, emotionally generous debut release lands.

Having just completed a UK tour as support to Ben Ellis, which saw the pair play to packed rooms at venues including The Garage in London and The Academy in Manchester, Dolder are set to announce new live dates very soon.
