Mike Weatherley, the Conservative MP for Hove and Portslade, has signed a Parliamentary Motion which highlights arguments against avoidable animal experiments.

For Life On Earth is an association for evidence-based medicine that is headed by scientific experts against experiments on animals.
Through this campaign, Early Day Motion 263 (Animal Experiments), Mike draws attention to the need for public scientific debates about this issue.
The Government plans to reduce, replace and refine the way in which animals are used in research. Through this approach, it will give the scientific community the opportunity to create a different approach to reduce the use of animals and furthermore, in the hope that there will be new techniques that do not involve animals.
Mike said: “Animal experiments by their very nature are controversial. Like most people, I want to see them sanctioned as little as possible and the new campaign by For Life on Earth is an important contribution to this issue.”
