Daley Pop x June 2025 starring: Rihanna, PinkPantheress, Calvin Harris, Clementine Douglas, Alison Goldfrapp, Darin, Kesha, Miriana Conte, Alizée and Miley Cyrus!

Music has been embedded in my life ever since I was in the womb, my Mum and Dad basically raised me on music, especially POP music! I grew up listening to Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Spice Girls, Britney Spears and even AQUA and I’ve always been obsessed with pop culture and Eurovison! I love sharing my favourite songs and album every month with the world from Scene HQ!
Rihanna - Friend Of Mine
Rihanna is back in the studio - maybe - sort of! Taken from the Smurfs Movie Soundtrack, Friend Of Mine is the first taste of new music since 2022’s Lift Me Up and Forever, the moving tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman and the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
RiRi is literally in the official music video for blink-and-you’ll-miss-her appearance, she knows exactly what she's doing and that's one of the reasons I love her! It's been 9 years, 4 months and 9 days to be exact since her 2016 ANTI masterpiece. So. Long. Ago! Could she be making us wait for the full decade mark before finally feeding us R9? I mean she is Rihanna, and she moves on her own time, and we’ll all be right here waiting when she’s ready.
PinkPantheress – Illegal
Victoria Walker aka PinkPantheress has unveiled Illegal which is giving major Y2K-meets-club vibes, taken from her latest mixtape, Fancy That. Oh and the official music video oozes MySpace era aesthetics which as a millennial, I deeply appreciate.
On Reddit, Pink said Illegal is a “weed diss track” which is super refreshing and "Illegal feels like coming home, it’s garage, gritty, and takes me right back to where I started with music. I’ve always loved that raw, late-night energy, and sampling Underworld felt like the perfect way to tap into that spirit while making it my own.”
Calvin Harris, Clementine Douglas – Blessings
Calvin Harris teaming up with Clementine Douglas on Blessings is immaculate. Clementine is one to watch too. The song is pure sunshine, those shimmering synths and bright piano chords instantly lift your mood, I promiiiiise. Blesssings just feels like a throwback to Calvin’s golden era of feel-good dance anthems in the best way!

I already know this track is going to be the soundtrack to the next few weeks as we ease into proper summer (21st June is the official start of summer allegedly). I can already imagine myself stretched out on the Brighton Beach pebbles, this tune in my ears, and a COCKtail in my right hand! (Nope that wasn't a typo).
Alison Goldfrapp – Reverberotic
The one and only Alison Goldfrapp is turning up the heat with Reverberotic - the second dazzling track from her hotly anticipated album Flux, landing this August via her own label A.G. Records.

Reverberotic isn’t just a track, it’s a full-blown sensory overload in the best possible way. It pulses with a hallucinogenic intensity, channelling the euphoric synth-pop heart that feels both otherworldly. One moment you’re floating in cinematic strings, the next you’re slammed with sledgehammer synths that hit like a lightning bolt. The tension? Electric. The payoff? Pure sonic ecstasy. Honestly, this is Alison in full command of her powers - bold, seductive, and completely untouchable. I’ve had it on repeat and I’m not even close to done. Roll on Flux.
Darin – Mimosa
Kurdish-Swedish singer and songwriter Darin (and my crush of the day) is helping us feel summery too thanks to his Mimosa!

Mimosa is a shimmering slice of sophisticated pop that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of a sun-drenched afternoon. The production on this track is pristine, blending laid-back grooves with infectious melodies that manage to be both understated and utterly memorable. Darin's vocals, as always, are smooth and compelling, delivering the lyrics with a charming sincerity. Mimosa isn't just a song; it's an atmosphere, a warm invitation to chill out and let the good vibes wash over you, solidifying its place as a perfect addition to any summer playlist.
Kesha - BOY CRAZY.
Calling all Animals! Kesha is serving up Butterscotch 2.0—if you know, you know! This track comes straight from her highly anticipated sixth studio album Peroid, marking a major milestone as her first independent release under her own label, Kesha Records. And the timing? Iconic. The album drops on the 4th July, exactly one year after she unleashed JOYRIDE—plus, it’s Independence Day in the U.S. But most importantly, it’s my niece’s birthday! Hey Annelise, if you ever read this—Uncle Dale loves you! 💖 xxx

Back to Ms. Sebert—BOY CRAZY. is the fourth single from Period, and it arrives with a wink and a smile, making it both relatable and, honestly, inspirational. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so inspired—or gayer. This track is proof that Kesha still reigns supreme when it comes to crafting infectious, unapologetic pop anthems—ones that are just as catchy as they are empowering.
Miriana Conte - SERVING KANT
Miriana Conte, Malta’s powerhouse at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, absolutely slayed in Basel, getting the whole city bouncing. And honestly? Robbed queen alert! She finished 17th out of 26 with 91 points, but Diva NEVER down!
I still can’t get over the drama with SERVING KANT—all because one tiny word supposedly sounded like an English swearword. BBC and EBU, you must have dirty minds because I don’t hear it (I'm using humour hehehe). The wildest part? The EBU originally approved it, then suddenly gave Miriana less than a week to rework it omg.

Miriana put it perfectly: "My intention was not to get publicity, my intention was to serve singing." And honestly? Facts. Kant literally means "singing" in Maltese! She just wanted to bring the music—no drama, just pure artistry.
Alizée – Moi... Lolita
Moi... Lolita was all over the European charts back in 2020, French singer Alizée was only 16 and the rest is history. It became a rare example of a foreign-language song to chart highly in the UK peaking at number nine on the official singles chart and became the highest-charting French-language song since 1995 when Celine Dion's Pour que tu m'aimes encore peaked at number seven.
A 12 year old me was obsessed with Moi... Lolita though and I really did think that Alizée was singing my surname (Melita), it does sound like it though right?! I remember flicking through music channels like The Box and MTV Hits trying to catch the song and I was so excited when I did-the days before music streaming platforms! What a time to be alive.
Alizée has released a Moi... Lolita EP on all music streaming platforms to celebrate the 25 year anniversary which includes lots of remixes but has also announced a o̶n̶e̶ n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ o̶n̶l̶y̶ 2 nights only show at the the famous Olympia music hall in Paris this September which is a big deal seeing as Alizée has taken a long break from the music industry.
Moi... Lolita was penned by Mylène Farmer (aka the French Madonna), and just last month, Dua Lipa gave it her own spin during her Radical Optimism Tour stop in Paris.
As part of the tour, Dula Peep (lol) has been covering a song by a local artist in each city she performs in—and for Paris, she delivered in perfect French. Iconique.

AOTM: Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful
Miley Cyrus, the pop chameleon and Disney legend, has officially entered her sophisticated era with the release of her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful. And honestly? It’s her best yet. No exaggeration—it’s truly something beautiful (sorry, had to say it, because, well… it’s true!).
This 13-track masterpiece blends emotional clarity with cinematic, expansive production, featuring the gorgeous new single Easy Lover, alongside previously released gems like More to Lose and one of my personal favorites, End of the World.
Produced by Miley herself and Shawn Everett, with contributions from Brittany Howard, Maxx Morando, and Michael Pollack, Something Beautiful is introspective, sonically adventurous and deeply emotional.
The album artwork, shot by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford, features Miley draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture—a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling.
And it doesn’t stop there! The album comes with a full-length visual companion, premiering on the 6th June (next Friday night) at the Tribeca Festival.
Directed by Miley, Brendan Walter, Jacob Bixenman, and acclaimed filmmaker Panos Cosmatos, the film is described as a one-of-a-kind pop opera fueled by fantasy. And don’t worry, huns—it’s hitting cinemas too! The Odeon on the seafront in Brighton is screening it for one night only on June 27th, so don’t miss out—book your tickets ASAP right HERE.
As for my favorite tracks? Reborn, Walk Of Fame (feat. Brittany Howard), Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved (with THE Naomi Campbell), Pretend You’re God, End of the World, Easy Lover, Golden Burning Sun, Give Me Love—and honestly, every single interlude tpp. Basically, every track. It’s just such a cohesively perfect album and a work of art.✨
