The final step to marriage equality took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 when anyone in a civil partnership could convert to a marriage if they chose to do so.
BHCC’s lead councillor for city services, Les Hamilton, says; “Steve and John are the 500th couple in Brighton and Hove to convert their Civil Partnership to marriage, making us the busiest register office in the country to-date for conversions and affording us an accolade we’re very proud of.”
