Brighton Bear Weekender held their first ever Bingo Bears night at Brighton’s A Bar on Sunday, February 15, hosted by the ever-lovely Mysterry.

A bijou but enthusiastic audience enjoyed a dazzling set of tunes from Mysterry, interspersed with two nail-biting rounds of bingo.
A succession of balls filled the hostess’s gulley as she called the numbers … “69, dinner for two” … “88, two fat bears” … until at last the winners called “Bingo!” and rose to claim their prizes; a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates, lunch at A Bar, and two hours of house cleaning kindly donated by Bang Tidy Cleaning Services of Brighton.
The evening raised a delightful £119.77 for the Rainbow Fund, who give grants to LGBT organisations and groups in Brighton and Hove providing effective front line services to the LGBT community in the city.
Brighton Bear Weekender organisers send their thanks to Mysterry for her time and talent, the players for going along and supporting a great cause and the A Bar for their hospitality and kind donation.
Eyes down, and keep ‘em peeled for the next one!
Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
