Have you ever wondered whether or not you are a good listener or do you think that you talk too much and don’t let others get a word in?
Volunteers from Brighton and Hove Samaritans will be running their ‘Learning to Listen’ workshop in the Phil Starr Pavilion on Thursday, February 9 from 6pm-8:30pm.
As part of the ‘Mental Health’ themed day during the festival, Samaritans will be running a 2.5 hour workshop that will help you to, describe elements of active listening, explore the barriers that prevent you from listening and help you look at the importance of consciously putting your own ‘stuff’ to one side to be there for someone else.
The workshop is funded with a grant from the Rainbow Fund.
Other workshops will also be delivered during the day by MindOut and Accessibility Matters.

LGBT History Month is an international month-long annual observance of LGBT+History and the opportunity to commemorate and remember the bravery of those who campaigned and spoke out over the years to help us achieve the freedoms and equality we enjoy today.
This ground breaking affiliation seeks to engage the city in the wide range of issues highlighted through the work of the Brighton & Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum, as well as partner/stakeholder work.
