With the European Parliamentary elections due to take place on Thursday, May 22, Brighton & Hove City Council is urging voters to make sure they are registered to vote in time.

Brighton and Hove City Council registration officer, Penny Thompson said: “People are talking about the elections, but you’ll only be able to have your say on who represents you in the European Parliament if you’re registered to vote by the deadline of Tuesday 6 May.”
“It only takes a few minutes either by phoning the council or printing off the online form.
“Even if you think you’re already registered, it’s really important to double check. Many people think they are automatically registered because they pay council tax, but this isn’t true. If you’re unsure, you can call the council to check.”
