For every chart-topping legend who reinvents themselves year after year, there’s a one-hit wonder who made magic once and that was enough. The '90s and '00s gave us icons like Britney'sand Beyoncé's and Kylie's and Mariah's and Madonna's, sure, but also unforgettable flashes of brilliance from artists like Madison Avenue and Shanks & Big Foot and Sam Sparro. Their lone hits still have me in a chokehold in 2025 and deserve to be remembered and cherished foreverrrrr. <3
Here are my ultimate fave one hit wonders from the '90s and 2000s-think neo-power ballads, gritty nu metal, slinky dancehall, crunk chaos and those blink-and-you-missed-it chart toppers that somehow became cult classics. Let's dive in head first and enjoy!
