Four Patrolettes from Bear Patrol, the social networking group for Bears and their admirers were picked to be one of the 15,000 runners taking part in The National Lottery Anniversary Run at the London 2012 – Olympic Stadium yesterday, Sunday, July 21. It was the first event staged at the Stadium since last summer’s Olympic and Paralympic games.
The five mile course went through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park before reaching a thrilling conclusion on the track inside the Stadium. Each runner was allowed to bring two friends or family members to the stadium to cheer them on to the finish line.
The National Lottery provided crucial funding to our Olympic and Paralympic athletes and supported a glorious summer of sport last year. The National Lottery Anniversary Run, staged in partnership with the London Borough of Newham, celebrated the contribution and life-changing support players in the National Lottery continue to give both grassroots and elite sport in the UK.
