The **University of Birmingham** has announced its support for **Autumn Is Queer**, **Coventry**’s inaugural LGBTQ+ campaign celebrating identity, creativity, and community across the West Midlands. The initiative, which runs from **22 September - 30 November**, is spearheaded by **Paul O’Donnell**, Creative Director of **Extraordinary Us** and a member of the University’s **Culture Forward** network.

Described as a “joyful programme of events and activities,” Autumn Is Queer aims to honour individuality, resilience, and pride during a season known for transformation and vibrant colour. Events range from performances, music, and stand-up comedy to walks, workshops, and craft fairs, taking place across Coventry and the wider region.

**Paul O’Donnell** said: “Although deeply rooted in queer culture, *Autumn Is Queer* is for everyone who values authenticity, community, and the right to live unapologetically. With creativity, humour, and heart, it invites everyone to blossom together.”

The University of Birmingham is contributing through **Culture Forward**, its civic engagement initiative, by curating a complementary satellite programme of events in Birmingham. This collaboration expands the campaign’s reach and impact, involving regional partners such as **Midlands Arts Centre** (MAC), **Sampad Arts**, and **Birmingham LGBT**, giving the campaign a truly regional identity.
