A man has been charged with attempted murder after an 18-year-old trans woman was stabbed in **Southport**.

Just after **5.20pm** on **Saturday,. 27 July**, emergency services were called to a report that the trans teenager had been stabbed inside a property. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition, **Merseyside Police** said.

**Mark Henderson**, 38, of Albert Road in Southport has been charged with attempted murder. He appeared in **Liverpool Magistrates Court** on Monday.

Police are continuing to appeal for any information which could help with their investigation.
