# The Sussex Beacon receives £2,400 from Brighton Bear Weekend

On Saturday evening, **Brighton Bear Weekend** (BBW) held a **Thank You & Grant Giving Party** at **Nautilus Lounge** in Kemptown, to thank volunteers, to introduce a new Chair, and award grants to a range of LGBTQ+ organisations. 

The **Sussex Beacon** was "delighted to attend” and the local HIV charity’s CEO **Rachel Brett** accepted a grant for £2,400, a significant portion of which will be used to fund essential works in the Beacon's kitchen, one of a number of projects taking place at the Beacon, ahead of its new LGBTQ+ hospice opening as previously announced.

The Sussex Beacon said: “All of us at the Sussex Beacon are enormously grateful to **Graham Munday**, the BBW team and BBW devotees, for their ongoing support. We are also enormously proud of our partnership of many years, which we very much look forward to continuing into the future.
