**Brighton & Hove City Council** has [launched](https://tracking.vuelio.co.uk/tracking/click?d=Jarit9dpCp%5FB1fzippvaVrvgVx8eLM5GAEzEi76jBAIoAdf1-Dl64iDJgLP6c3iqR3dQW5AH9vibhXqnZIDCCvpxj46gk%5FIE5YGbb2u0zSgOB0CQcfFPaT7cpcjr0puPxEsl%5Fg1RplYmo9HuDt6hrhmyza07fuQ5k3b2lwvulnLQrEmH2qtgQZGQcflhd2dU2SAj-uIvwkNerb4pQGiKf7U1&ref=scenemag.co.uk) a public consultation on its updated **Community Safety and Crime Reduction Strategy**, which will set priorities for tackling crime and anti-social behaviour across the city from April 2026 to March 2029.

The strategy, refreshed every three years, guides the work of the **Community Safety Partnership** – a collaboration between the council, **Sussex Police**, **East Sussex Fire & Rescue**, the **NHS**, probation services and local voluntary organisations. Its aim is to make Brighton & Hove safer for residents, visitors, and businesses.

Among the proposed priority areas for the next three years is a strong focus on **hate incidents and crimes**, alongside serious violence, domestic abuse, sexual violence, anti-social behaviour, and counter-extremism under the Prevent programme.

Councillor **Andrei Czolak**, Cabinet Advisor for Community Safety, said: “The **Community Safety and Crime Reduction Strategy** is an important piece of work helping us make Brighton & Hove a safer place for residents, visitors, communities and businesses.

“The draft strategy has been created collaboratively with the Community Safety Partnership and we have analysed the data on the risks that the city is facing.

“You can share your thoughts on the priorities, aims and plans that we’re proposing in the Community Safety and Crime Reduction Strategy by completing our online survey.”
