**Sam Parrott** (**Labour**) has been elected as councillor for **Westbourne & Poets’ Corner** following a by-election on **Thursday, 1 May** 2025.

The by-election was called following the resignation of **Leslie Pumm**.

Results

**Gary Farmer**, **Reform UK** – 258 votes

**Keith William Donald Jago** – 7 votes

**David Maples,** Independent Trade Union and Socialist Candidate – 91 votes

**Georgia Arabella McKinley Fitch**, Independents for Direct Democracy – 93 votes

**Tony Meadows**, Conservative Party – 129 votes

**Sam Parrott**, Labour Party – 894 votes

**Geoff Shanks**, Green Party – 685 votes

**Michael Wang**, Liberal Democrats – 598 votes

The turnout in the Westbourne & Poets’ Corner by-election was 36.95%.

Writing on social media, **Brighton & Hove Labour Group** said: “Congratulations to Sam Parrott, your new Labour councillor for Westbourne and Poet’s Corner!
