A major celebration of queer culture and creativity is set to return this summer, with **Queer Bloomsbury** coming back to [**Charleston** ](https://www.charleston.org.uk/whats-on/?ref=scenemag.co.uk)on 15 August.

The event promises an evening of “queer excellence”, blending discussion, performance and nightlife across Charleston’s house and gardens. Audiences are invited to explore the grounds through “strange explorations in the garden”, alongside a programme of talks and live art.

Proceedings begin at 6pm with *The Moment*, a specially commissioned queer talk bringing together three leading voices to examine how queer imagination can confront, subvert and transform the world.

From 7pm to 9pm, the venue will transform into a “Queer Fayre”, featuring performances, live art and installations spread throughout the gardens. Artists including **Symoné, Brian Lobel, Emma Frankland, Subira Joy** and **Charlie Wood** are set to take part, creating what organisers describe as a “bucolic” yet subversive takeover of the space.

The evening culminates in a midsummer party running from 9pm to midnight, with DJs, performances and a line-up of special guests. **DJ Michelle Manetti** will headline, as attendees are encouraged to “dance into the night” under an August sky, with a dress code inspired by “queering the garden”.

Events like Queer Bloomsbury create visible, celebratory spaces for queer art and ideas, strengthening cultural representation and community connection within and beyond traditional LGBTQ+ venues across Sussex.
