# Peccadillo Pictures acquires a basket of new LGBTQ+ titles for UK and Irish audiences

Five films have been acquired for distribution by arthouse and LGBTQ+ film distributor **Peccadillo Pictures**.

Zeno Graton’s French coming-of-age drama ***THE LOST BOYS (LE PARADIS*)**, which received its world premiered in the **73rd Berlinale’s Generation 14+** line-up, sees Joe (**Khalil Ben Gharbia**, *PETER VON KANT*) and William (**Julien De Saint Jean**, *LIE WITH ME*, also with Peccadillo) attempt to keep their burgeoning relationship under wraps at a tough juvenile detention centre.

Set in a similarly hyper-masculine setting is **David Wagner**‘s Austrian military drama ***EISMAYER***, which was also picked up at Berlin’s film market. Winner of the Grand Prize of last year’s **Venice International Critics’ Week**, the film follows a hardened Sergeant Major whose heteronormative existence is shaken when he falls in love with an out and proud new recruit.

Peccadillo also closed deals on two Canadian titles: **Jason Karman**‘s empowering teen drama ***GOLDEN DELICIOUS***, about a young boy’s coming out in Vancouver’s Asian-Canadian community; and **Sarah Watts** and **Mark Slutsky**‘s ***YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER***, which follows an intense affair between two young women in a Jehovah’s Witnesses’ community. The film received its world premiere at **Tribeca Festival**.

Rounding out Peccadillo’s pick-ups is Brazil’s official entry for the 2022 Oscars, **Aly Muritiba**‘s **PRIVATE DESERT**, which sees a newly suspended policeman embark on a journey cross-country to find an elusive love-interest.

**Tom Abell**, MD at Peccadillo Pictures, said: “It was great to be back at the Berlinale after a brief hiatus, so we were pleased to bring back such a wonderfully diverse selection of new films for UK and Irish audiences. 2023 is going to be a bumper year for us.”
