# Olympic swimmer and LGBTQ+ activist Michael Gunning to open Brighton’s first Pride Swim – The Big Dip!

Olympic swimmer and LGBTQ+ activist **Michael Gunning** is to open Brighton’s very first **Pride Swim – The Big Dip!** at Brighton beach on **Saturday, October 26** at **2pm** next to **Sea Lanes**.

The Big Dip, sponsored by **Speedo**, will see up to 200 participants take a dip in the sea, all to raise vital funds for [**Switchboard LGBT Helpline**.](https://switchboard.lgbt/?ref=scenemag.co.uk)

Expect competitions for best ‘Prided up swimmers’ and there will be pre and post swim activities, including breathwork sessions, a pop-up sauna and a post-event celebration at Sea Lanes.

All participants will get a specially designed Speedo x Pride Swim swim cap, a medal and a Speedo goody bag.

**The price to join is £10, with the opportunity to add an extra donation to Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline.**
