# MindOut for Laughs returns to Komedia to raise funds for LGBTQ+ mental health

Brighton LGBTQ+ mental health charity **MindOut** is set to bring back its fundraising event ***MindOut for Laughs*** next month, with an evening of comedy, drag, music and spoken word at **Komedia Brighton**.

The event, hosted by Brighton drag and cabaret favourite **Ophelia Payne**, will take place on **Thursday, 3 September** and aims to raise vital funds for LGBTQ+ people experiencing mental health challenges and suicidal distress.

This year's line-up includes *RuPaul's Drag Race UK* star **Tayris Mongardi,** *Married at First Sight UK* personality **Keye-Luke**, who will perform poetry from his new book, drag performer **Cherry Bomb** and entertainer **Scott Nichol**.

Alongside the performances, guests will be able to take part in a fundraising raffle, with all proceeds supporting MindOut's services across Sussex.

MindOut is a mental health charity run by and for LGBTQ+ people. The organisation provides counselling, peer mentoring, peer support groups, befriending services, advocacy and online instant web chat support, helping people access inclusive and affirming mental health care.

**Peter Nesbitt**, director of MindOut, said: “*MindOut for Laughs* is a fantastic opportunity to come together for a brilliant night out while supporting LGBTQ mental health.

“Every ticket sold helps us continue providing life-changing and, in some cases, life-saving support to LGBTQ people across Sussex. We're delighted to welcome such a talented lineup of performers and can't wait to celebrate with our community at Komedia.”

The event will be fully BSL interpreted.
