# Macmillan Coastal Garden Trail to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in July

Visit 17 eclectic and individual gardens between **Brighton** and **Seaford** over the weekend of **Saturday, July 23** and **Sunday, July 24**. **Driftwood Fundraising Group**, chaired by Seaford gardener **Geoff Stonebanks**, has secured TV gardener **Christine Walkden** to open the event at **11am** on the Saturday in his own garden, Driftwood in Seaford.

2022 will be very special, as it will see Geoff’s efforts top **£100,000** raised for **Macmillan Cancer Support** over the years, all of which has gone directly to the **Macmillan Horizon Centre** in Brighton.

The gardens are open **11am – 5pm** both days, with all details [HERE](http://www.macmillangardentrail.co.uk/?ref=scenemag.co.uk)[ ](http://www.macmillangardentrail.co.uk/?ref=scenemag.co.uk)on where you can also buy day tickets online. Otherwise it’s **£8** on the day at the first garden visited on both Saturday and Sunday, alternatively pay **£3** at each garden visited. Dogs on leads allowed in most gardens, children free and several locations serving delicious home-made refreshments. Some gardens will be selling local artists’ work too.

There are nine gardens opening in the city, five in **BN1** and four in **BN2**. The Macmillan Horizon Centre’s new allotment is one of the two new ones in the city to open, along with **23 Cornwall Gardens**. Don’t miss the returning **144 Rodmell Avenue**, which has had a fabulous makeover since it last opened several years ago!
