# Liverpool FC to join city Pride march as club marks 14 years of support

**Liverpool FC** will join thousands of people at **Liverpool Pride** this weekend as the club continues its long-running support for the city's LGBTQ+ community.

Players, staff, supporters, Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs, fan groups and representatives from the club's commercial partners are set to take part in Saturday's Pride march, one of the largest events in the city's calendar.

As an official sponsor of Liverpool Pride, the Reds will once again march alongside members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies from across the region, continuing a relationship that stretches back more than a decade.

This year marks 14 years since Liverpool became the first Premier League club to participate in a Pride march, a milestone the club says reflects its ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion through its **Red Together** initiative.

The club has been involved in a range of Pride-related activities throughout the summer, bringing together supporters, colleagues and local communities.

Liverpool Pride

Earlier this month, the **LFC Foundation** hosted its annual Pride football tournament, welcoming teams from several local leagues for a day focused on football, inclusion and community spirit. Representatives from the **Young People's Advisory Service** (YPAS) also attended to raise awareness of support services available to young people across Liverpool.

The Foundation will continue its involvement during Saturday's celebrations, with a dedicated stand at Liverpool Pride where visitors can learn more about its community programmes and charitable work.

Meanwhile, the club's annual Pride badge competition has once again showcased the creativity of young people connected to the Foundation. This year's winning design was created by Grace, a participant in Foundation programmes, whose entry was selected from 364 submissions by Liverpool FC's LGBTQ+ employee network.

The winning badge will feature prominently throughout the weekend's events.

Supporters can also show their support through Liverpool FC's Pride retail collection, available online and in official club stores. The range includes clothing and accessories, with a percentage of proceeds donated to local LGBTQ+ charities. The initiative has contributed £20,000 to LGBT+ causes to date.

**Rishi Jain**, Liverpool FC's director of impact, said: "We're proud to once again support Liverpool's Pride, marching alongside our colleagues, supporters, partner networks and the wider community this weekend.

"Red Together is how we make sure everyone feels welcome, valued and respected, and Pride is an important opportunity to celebrate that alongside our city. We look forward to coming together to show our support for the LGBT+ community."

Liverpool Pride takes place on Saturday, with thousands expected to attend celebrations across the city as organisations, community groups and businesses come together to champion visibility, equality and inclusion.
