Sussex-based LGBTQ+ mental health charity **MindOut** was awarded £5,000 at an '**Angels’ Den**' event at the **Brighton i360**, organised by **Focus Foundation**.

Ten Sussex charities received a share of over £100,000 at the event, which saw each charity outline what it would spend the money on, followed by questions from the 'Angels', including **Rob Starr** MBE, **Sarah Willingham** and **Nazila Blencowe**.

**Chris Goodman**, co-founder and trustee of Focus Foundation, said: "The purpose of the Foundation is to connect communities allowing grassroots charities to thrive, and our first ever Angels’ Den was a perfect example of that.

"It was a spectacular showcase featuring some incredible local charities, and I know that the money will make a huge difference to their work across Sussex.

"It was a very proud evening for the outstanding team at the Foundation, and we look forward to similar initiatives where we can make a real difference to people's lives."

The pitches were made in front of an audience of 200 people, including the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, **Amanda Grimshaw**, and Deputy Lieutenant, **Michael Bedingfield**. Also present at the i360 were the Patrons of Focus Foundation, **Anita Dobson** and **Andrew Bernardi**.

Chris added: "I want to pay tribute to all ten charities who took part. It really was a moving evening where so many heartwarming stories were told.

"Focus Foundation will continue to move forward in the coming months with new and exciting announcements. We can't wait."
