Family and friends of the late political campaigner, trade unionist and trans pioneer **Charlie Kiss** have launched [a fundraiser in his name](https://charliekissfund.org/?ref=scenemag.co.uk), which will raise funds to support counselling services for the trans community through a collaboration with **CliniQ** – a trans-led not-for-profit organisation based at **King’s College Hospital**, London.

After transitioning in 2002, Charlie became the first trans man to run for parliament in the UK in 2015, standing for the **Green Party** in **Islington South & Finsbury**. He sadly died in 2022.

***A New Man***, the memoirs of Charlie Kiss, which describe his life as a trans man, is to be reprinted to coincide with the launch of the fundraiser.

In a statement, the family of Charlie said: “We wanted to continue Charlie’s remarkable legacy of activism and awareness by supporting others in the trans community.

“Counselling services are a powerful way of doing this, so we joined up with CliniQ – a trans-led, not-for-profit organisation run in partnership with King’s College Hospital. You can [read more about CliniQ on their website](https://cliniq.org.uk/?ref=scenemag.co.uk).

“You can make a one-off donation, or establish a monthly subscription, however small. All donations go directly to [CliniQ](https://cliniq.org.uk/?ref=scenemag.co.uk), a registered UK Community Interest Company, to help provide counselling and mentoring services for trans people in need.”
