A drag performer due to appear in an upcoming series of ***Drag Race Philippines*** has died aged 27, prompting production to be suspended.

**Misua**, whose real name was **Jayson Elvie Ty**, died in her sleep on **2 April**, just days before filming for the fourth series was set to begin. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

The news was confirmed by production company **World of Wonder**, which said it was “heartbroken” by the loss of the “talented Queen” and announced that filming had been paused to support cast and crew.

In a statement, the company praised Misua for bringing “light, artistry and joy” to those around her, adding that she would be “deeply missed”.

Tributes have since poured in from across the international Drag Race community, with fellow performers and fans expressing shock at her sudden death.

Misua, from **Cagayan de Oro** in the Philippines, had worked as a graphic designer and was known for creating her own drag costumes and visual designs. She had been performing for several years and was part of the **Haus of LaFeya** collective.

Her family described her as a “beloved son, brother, friend and mentor”, adding that she would be greatly missed.

The fourth series of *Drag Race Philippines* is expected to air later this year, though it is unclear when production will resume.
