# Demi Lovato comes out as pansexual

28-year-old music artist and actor **Demi Lovato**, who previously referred to herself as queer, has come out as pansexual, saying: *“I’m part of the alphabet mafia and proud.”* Appearing on *[The Joe Rogan Experience](https://open.spotify.com/episode/2zGIaXArqPPyYZP7HY8ogN?si=vceYoHnMSiyCHEB-BER3pQ&nd=1&ref=scenemag.co.uk)* podcast, Lovato confirmed that she identifies as pansexual, adding: *“I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was super closeted off.”*

The *Heart Attack* singer explained that she realised her sexuality after seeing **Selma Blair** and **Sarah Michelle Gellar** kiss in *Cruel Intentions*, but *“felt a lot of shame because growing up in Texas as a Christian, that’s very frowned upon.”* She said: *“Any attraction that I ever had toward a female at a young age, I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling.”*

Lovato also said she wants to adopt children: *“I also don’t know if I’m going to end up with a guy, so I can’t really see myself even getting pregnant”*.
