## Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown, backs move to convert a soon-to-be-removed phone box in Ovingdean into a Defibrillator phone box.

**The initiative comes** from Ovingdean resident, **Joanna Goddard,** who learned that the phone box, outside the Ovingdean Village Stores, is to be removed in August.

Defibrillator phone boxes are a new idea but having such emergency equipment close to hand can really save lives.

**Simon said:** *“I believe this is a valuable and important initiative and I am very happy indeed to support it. The proposal will make available close-at-hand emergency equipment which may save vital seconds in helping someone in medical distress. I wish the campaigners well in their work on this issue.”*
