Cllr **Elaine Hills**, chair of **Brighton & Hove City Council**’s (BHCC) Corporate Parenting Board, is calling for more people in the city to become foster carers.

Cllr Hills said: *“The impact our foster carers can have on transforming the lives of our children and young people cannot be overstated.*

*“Our fostering team offers first class training and 24-7 support. And unlike some independent fostering agencies we are of course a not-for-profit service.*

*“We welcome interest in fostering from all sections of our diverse community, regardless of your marital status, race, disability, sexuality or gender.*

**“We need people from all backgrounds who have a spare room and child care experience and want to help make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children.*

*“Our team is successfully working to assess and approve new foster carers during the pandemic within government guidelines.”*
