# Brighton Bear Weekend raises £6,000 for the Brighton Rainbow Fund

This year’s **Brighton Bear Weekend** (BBW) was the most successful weekend on record, raising **£6,000** for the **Brighton Rainbow Fund**.

Helped by some lovely weather and excellent attendance, BBW 2022 had its most successful weekend ever which provided an excellent opportunity to maximise their fundraising efforts. After holding a small reserve for next year’s event, BBW was able to offer a donation of £6,000 to their chosen charity, the **Brighton Rainbow Fund**.

**Graham Munday**, Chair of BBW, said: “BBW is primarily aimed at providing a series of events aimed at the LGBTQ+ bear community, but fundraising is also high on our agenda. We’re therefore delighted that we can donate such a large amount towards the Brighton Rainbow Fund’s grant giving activities.”

The Brighton Rainbow Fund is the central hub for fundraising within the Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ communities, and distributes grants to local projects which benefit, and make a difference, to the lives of hundreds of individuals within those communities

**Chris Gull**, Chair of the Brighton Rainbow Fund, added: “BBW has been a consistently strong supporter of the Fund, and I and the various community groups that we support are extremely grateful for the efforts of all BBW volunteers in making this happen.”
