# Birmingham Pride Community Event returns on Friday, September 23

Launched in 2021, the **Big Free Community Event** is part of **Birmingham Pride**, and this year it will return for a second time.

The event will be held at the **Smithfield** site, which is the main site for the full weekend line-up, including **Beck Hill** and **Steps**. The community event will be held on **Friday, September 23**, ahead of the other Pride events across the Saturday and Sunday.

The event will include a candlelit vigil, keynote speakers, the **Secret Symphony presents DIVA**, community stalls and food stalls. Plus, there will be performances, live music, and other LGBTQ+ talent yet to be announced.

Although the event is **free**, you will need to [apply for tickets online](https://birminghampride.com/free-community-pride-event/?ref=scenemag.co.uk) to secure your place as tickets are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
