**Alnev** autumn is officially here. The **Brooklyn** alt pop and independent artist just dropped his sophomore EP *and everything you left was blue* and not gonna lie, it’s a masterpiece!

This six track (well eight track but six really) project is pure feels: heartbreak, loss, and those quiet “oh wow” realisations that hit at 2am. Alnev blends raw singer/songwriter vulnerability with slick bedroom pop production, proving he’s one of **NYC**’s most exciting rising voices.

Released today (on his birthday btw-HBD Ari🥳), the EP slides effortlessly between arena ready anthems and gut punch ballads, capturing the messy aftermath of a love that wasn’t built to last. Basically, it’s the soundtrack for anyone who’s ever been in their feelings.

From the scream along highs of t*he Writer*, *if i’m being honest*, and *the guy that got you* to the stripped down intimacy of its bonus voice memo and one take live recording, the EP captures Alnev at his most raw and self‑assured.

His voice is the centerpiece, powerful enough to soar over anthemic choruses yet tender enough to make the quiet moments feel achingly personal. It’s proof that Alnev isn’t just a gifted songwriter; he’s an exceptional singer who knows exactly how to turn vulnerability into art. Speaking of art, shout out to *Van Gogh*, a stunning track that Alnev wrote when he was only 18!

Right after the first lockdown started in 2020, and it's about the death of an artist and the life of another and it's honestly gorgeous, and timeless.

Back to *and everything you left was blue* now though, *the Writer* taken from *AEYLWB* is hands down my favourite track on Alnev’s new EP.

The lyrics dive into themes of self sabotage and doomed relationships (relatable….eeeep), with Alnev confessing, “I’m not the writer you should’ve fallen in love with.” That line perfectly captures the song’s central motif of inevitability and regret.

On social media, Alnev shared just how much this track means to him: “I have never been prouder of a song. From the day I discovered it, pop music has always been such an important part of my life. It’s had such a deep influence on the way I create, and I am so thankful to the trailblazers who showed me the ropes, whether they knew it or didn’t-**Lorde**, **1D**, **Taylor**, **Justin**, **Lauv**, **Julia**, **Gracie**, **Selena**, **Holly**, **Ariana**, **Maisie**, **Demi**, and many more… I am beyond grateful for everyone involved in the process of making this utter bop.”

Alnev has mastered the art of pairing gut wrenching lyrics with soaring, unforgettable melodies. Growing up in an ultra‑Orthodox Chabad Jewish household, his journey into music was far from traditional.

Today, he stands as a trailblazer within his community, reshaping what vulnerability looks like for a generation that rarely sees it mirrored back. His work proves that honesty-even when it stings-can be radical, healing and profoundly connective.

Produced by **Yonah Taragin**, **Shlomo Wolf**, **Harper James**, and **Ari Rabin** (Alnev himself), the project showcases world class craft from the bedroom studio to the mastering suite. Mixed by **Harper James** (**John Legend**, **James Bay**, **Marshmello**, **ZAYN**) and mastered by **Grammy**\-winner **Joe LaPorta** (**David Bowie**, **Shawn Mendes**, **Miley Cyrus**, **Laufey**), every song gleams with emotional precision and sonic warmth.

Speaking about the message behind the project, Alnev saidv“I’ve always found such a solace in taking my most difficult experiences and turning them into songs. There’s an alchemy to it; morphing hurt into melody."

> "This EP is a study in the art of heartbreak, it’s my way of apprehending unrequited love and trying to make sense of it all. I’ve really never been prouder of a project.”

Following the viral success of his debut EP’s stunning single *Van Gogh*, which introduced him to listeners worldwide and amassed over 600,000 streams on **Spotify**, Alnev has continued to build momentum across stages and airwaves alike. From headlining an acoustic tour across **Australia**, to opening at **Gramercy Theatre** and **Music Hall of Williamsburg**, and with an upcoming **Mercury Lounge** appearance on the horizon, Alnev’s heartfelt performances have captivated audiences on all sides of the globe.

With *and everything you left was blue*, Alnev offers not just a collection of songs, but a full bodied portrait of love’s aftermath; shimmering, aching, and undeniably human. If you’re into artists like **Conan Gray**, **Billie Eilish** or **Gracie Abrams** I reckon you’ll find Alnev’s EP both familiar and strikingly original.

It honestly feels like a soundtrack for late night reflection, the kind of record you’ll want to loop when you’re in your feelings and as a Cancerian, I get in my feelings quite often. I can't help it because I'm a sensitive snail. Also, **Mercury** is in retrograde from the 9th November until the 29th November! Just saying.

So if you’ve been searching for music that’s honest, atmospheric, and emotionally gripping then *and everything you left was blue* deserves a spot on your playlist, stream it now if you’re ready to feel everything.
