# Actually’s Gay Men’s Chorus raises £1,000 for Sussex Beacon

*“It is the decision of the members to continue to support The Sussex Beacon as Actually Members’ Chosen Charity”,* said Samuel Cousins. *“Our members and supporters have raised £1,000 from our socially-distanced 2020 Christmas concerts, and we would have loved to be able to raise more, but of course our audiences were at limited capacity for safety reasons.”*Covid-19 continues to hit charities hard, Bill explained, and with their charity shops closed for a large proportion of the year, the Sussex Beacon is increasingly reliant on donations. *“Your £1,000 could fund a vital care package for two beds for patients recovering from HIV-related illnesses, providing them with specialist 24-hour nursing care in our 10-bed inpatient unit.”*The Actually boys are currently working hard rehearsing on Zoom and, fingers crossed, soon in-person for their summer fundraising concert *This Is The Hour*, again supporting the Sussex Beacon.
